Sunday Snapshot: Fisherman’s Bastion
Today’s Sunday Snapshot comes from one my favorite European cities to date, Budapest! Situated up on Castle Hill on the Buda side of the Danube, Fisherman’s Bastion is comprised of seven towers representing the seven Magyar tribes that settled the country of Hungary in 895. This area was protected by the guild of fisherman in the Middle Ages, giving this decorative fortification its name.
Fisherman’s Bastion offers panoramic views of the Danube and the Pest side of the city and was one of my favorite views of this beautiful city. You even catch a glimpse of Parliament in the background of this photo.
