Sunday Snapshot: San Gimignano

Driving about 60 km outside Florence, Italy takes you to medieval walled town of San Gimignano. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its towers as well as its medieval architecture and atmosphere that still exist today. However, the outside edge of this hill town provides stunning views of the countryside that are best viewed at sunset.

I loved my visit to San Gimignano. I was there 5 years ago and found the entire village breathtaking – it reminded me of a simple existence, where everyone knew their neighbors and enjoyed each other’s company. San Gimignano is beautiful.

  2. I could not agree more! There is something so peaceful (and beautiful) about Tuscany and San Gimignano was one of my favorites in the region.
