Sunday Snapshot: Captiva Island
As soon as the cold weather starts to settle here in Boston, I immediately start thinking of warmer destinations. I relive past warm weather trips where coats, gloves and tights were not part of my wardrobe. Last night, I had my first moment. On our way home from a Friendsgiving (a Thanksgiving with friends) in Avon, CT, it began to snow. This first dusting of the year meant two things a) it is going to be a long winter and b) bring on that warm weather destination dreaming.
Today’s Sunday Snapshot is from Captiva Island, Florida where I spent a blissful six days last February. This trip was especially enjoyable because of timing. I left just hours before Nor’Easter Nemo dumped almost 25 inches of snow on Boston. So while family and friends were snowed in, Max and I were taking a sunset cruise through Captiva Island. This is one of my favorite photos as it captures the beautiful reds, oranges and yellows of the sunset just as a fellow catamaran was passing by.
To all of you experiencing the cold weather now, I hope this offers you a little reprieve!
